Solstice captures solar heat and stores it affordably so that industry can use it at the point of highest value. Our innovative solution is a transfer device that combines two existing technologies: concentrated solar power and heat storage in sand. Solar mirrors efficiently gather heat, which is then transferred to sand – a durable, readily available, and inexpensive material. The sand acts as a thermal battery, capable of storing large amounts of energy at high temperatures with minimal energy loss.
Solstice lowers the cost of renewable heat, reduces CO₂ emissions, decreases reliance on fossil fuels, and eases the strain on the energy grid, making industrial heat not only cheaper but also cleaner.
