Baltic Towers was established in 2023 as a result of cooperation between the Polish Industrial Development Agency SA and the Spanish company GRI Renewable Industries, SL. The goal of this joint venture is to implement an innovative project – the construction of the largest offshore wind tower factory in Europe. The investment is located on Ostrów Island in Gdańsk. The facility, with port access, will allow for the creation of a production hall where towers for wind turbines with a capacity of 15 MW and more will be manufactured. The plant will have sufficient production capacity to produce over 150 towers per year. The production hall covers 6.2 hectares with heavy lifting capacity; this production hall can produce sections up to 500 tons, 50 meters long, and 11 meters in diameter. The Baltic Towers factory will create over 500 highly specialized jobs, contributing to the regional economy and improving the skills and competencies of local workers.
