The Clean Energy Port (PCE) in Gdańsk is a municipal combined heat and power plant that recovers energy from non-recyclable municipal waste, which is the residue left after the mechanical sorting process – the so-called energy fraction, stripped of valuable materials.
It is here, in the process of thermal waste treatment, in so-called high-efficiency cogeneration, that electricity and district heating are produced simultaneously.

The Clean Energy Port not only limits the amount of waste sent to landfill and gas emissions, but also provides a sustainable and long-term energy source from an unconventional source. The operation of the municipal waste incineration plant closes the municipal waste management system in Gdańsk and the region, making it stable and effective.
