Poland has significant potential in biomethane production. It is important to remember that this is mostly biomethane of agricultural origin, which is particularly important for the development of the sector – it allows for the use of local resources, such as agricultural waste and by-products, and supports the sustainable development of rural areas by creating new jobs, generating additional income for farms, and strengthening energy self-sufficiency. Without a cohesive support system, simplified administrative procedures, and predictable regulatory conditions, rural Poland and investors will not make decisions to implement projects, despite the very high interest in this sector.
