Dr Alan Beroud is a manager with many years of experience, including in the railway industry. Since 2019, he served as the CEO of Szybka Kolej Miejska in Warsaw, where he implemented key programmes to increase the energy efficiency of rolling stock and railway infrastructure, among other initiatives. Dr Beroud also has extensive experience in implementing infrastructure investments and managing strategic projects in the railway, construction, and energy sectors. In these areas, he has implemented and supervised international projects in global markets. In 2024, as head of PKP Group, he was elected as the Chairman of the International Union of Railways (UIC) – the largest railway industry organisation in the world.
The Chairman of PKP S.A. and the PKP Group is a graduate of law from the University of Warsaw and energy from the Silesian University of Technology. He holds a PhD obtained from the Institute of Security and Information of the University of Krakow, an EMBA for the energy sector (University of Gdańsk in cooperation with Aix En Provence), and a Master of Project Management from George Washington University in the USA. He has also completed additional training and courses at Harvard University, MIT, and Tsinghua University.
