Emilia Makarewicz is an expert in energy transition, with over 12 years of experience in developing hydrogen and gas projects, securing funding for innovation, and implementing H2-ready technologies. She was a Management Board Member of Polenergia H2Silesia and Director of the Hydrogen and Gas Projects Department at Polenergia S.A. She was responsible for shaping and implementing the hydrogen strategy at the Polenergia Group, overseeing the development of key projects, including the construction of the large-scale H2Silesia hydrogen plant with a capacity of approx. 105 MW in Upper Silesia, covered by the EU's IPCEI Hy2Infra programme.

She specialises in the renewable energy sources market, green hydrogen, and the role of gas as a transitional technology in the energy transition. As a strategic advisor, she supported giants such as Vattenfall, Ericsson and others in developing their business in Poland. She actively promoted Japanese technologies and companies, supporting cooperation between Polish industry and the Land of the Rising Sun.

Involved in the activities of the Subcarpathian and Silesia-Małopolska Hydrogen Valleys, she consistently supports the development of technologies that ensure security of energy supply and energy sovereignty.
