Sławomir Hinc has extensive experience in the gas industry, having been directly involved in developing the concept for the functioning of Poland's national gas transmission system operator from 2003 onwards. From 2004 to 2008, he served as the Financial Director at PGNiG Przesył (now GAZ-SYSTEM), where he was responsible for cooperation with the Energy Regulatory Office and for negotiating the lease agreement for transmission assets, which were transferred from PGNiG to GAZ-SYSTEM as a dividend in kind. He also supervised the process of obtaining a gas transmission licence for GAZ-SYSTEM. From 2006 to 2008, he held the position of authorised signatory (prokurent) at GAZ-SYSTEM. He is the author of the company's first transmission tariff. From 2008 to 2013, he was the Vice-President of PGNiG for Financial Affairs. His responsibilities included the separation of the storage system operator (OSM) from PGNiG, the establishment of the company now operating under the name Gas Storage Poland, and the introduction of storage services to the market. From 2008 to 2014, he was a member of the Supervisory Board of EuRoPol GAZ. In 2010, he was appointed to the Management Committee of the European association of gas and oil companies, EUROGAS, in Brussels, where he served until 2015.

Between 2013 and 2016, he served as President and CEO of PGNiG Upstream Norway, where he was responsible, among other things, for PGNiG's acquisition of shares in 4 fields, for which he received the Gullkronen Award for the best transaction on the Norwegian oil market. He also supervised the expansion of PGNiG's exploration activities in Northern Norway, including PGNiG's acquisition of exploration licenses in the Barents Sea. Between 2019 and 2024, he was involved in the renewable energy sector, first as an advisor to the management board, and then as a member of the Supervisory Board of Helioexpert. Since 2019, he has been the President and Managing Director of Green Genius – the Polish branch of a Lithuanian PV farm operator.

He holds an economics degree from the Institute of Foreign Trade at the University of Gdańsk and a doctorate in technical sciences from the Faculty of Environmental Engineering at the Warsaw University of Technology, specialising in gas transmission tariff systems. He also studied at universities in Vienna and Berlin. He completed postgraduate studies in The Comprehensive Business Management Programme organised by Central Connecticut State University. He lectures on postgraduate studies at the Warsaw University of Technology and the AGH University of Science and Technology in the areas of transport, tariffs, and the regulation of the natural gas market. He is the author of numerous publications on natural gas tariffs and transport.
