Roger Noyce joined the Royal Navy in 1981 and served as an engineer on several ships and on numerous operational missions before being commissioned as a Warfare Officer in 1991. After several seagoing posts, he specialised in intelligence and subsequently held various roles within national, inter-service and naval command structures. 

During this time, he completed a Master's degree in Intelligence and International Security. In 2022, he established the position of Deputy Director (Assessment) at the Joint Maritime Security Centre (JMSC), developing the analytical capabilities that now provide consolidated maritime security and sanctions assessments for the UK government.
