Dr. Alan Beroud is a manager with extensive experience, including in the railway industry. Since 2019, he has served as CEO of Szybka Kolej Miejska (Szybka Kolej Miejska) in Warsaw, where he implemented key programs to improve the energy efficiency of vehicles and rail infrastructure. Dr. Beroud also has extensive experience in implementing infrastructure investments and managing strategic projects in the railway, construction, and energy sectors. He has implemented and supervised international projects in these areas on global markets. In 2024, as head of the PKP Group, he was elected chairman of the International Union of Railways (UIC) – the world's largest rail industry organization.
The CEO of PKP SA and the PKP Group graduated with a degree in law from the University of Warsaw and a degree in energy from the Silesian University of Technology. He holds a PhD from the Institute of Security and Information Technology at the University of Krakow, an EMBA in the energy sector (University of Gdańsk in cooperation with Aix-en-Provence), and a Master of Project Management from George Washington University in the USA. He has also completed training and additional courses at Harvard University, MIT, and Tsinghua University.
