Grzegorz Krystek – President of the Management Board of PGE Energia Ciepła, an experienced manager and expert, associated with the energy and financial sectors from the beginning of his professional career.

He has worked on major energy modernization projects, as well as privatization and restructuring projects in the energy sector, both in Poland and abroad. He gained extensive international experience working for Westinghouse, New York State Electric & Gas Corporation, Arthur Andersen, Apache Corp., and Vertis Environmental Finance. He led privatization processes for energy sector companies for foreign investors and the Minister of the Treasury. He managed the energy and strategy and development areas at Elektrim, and was responsible for, among other things, arranging financing and the construction of the Pątnów II power plant.

He collaborated with regulators in the US, Europe, and Poland, negotiating the terms of deregulation and the opening of the energy and gas market. He created a unified and competitive gas and electricity market in Europe, and developed guidelines and draft directives introducing "colored" certificate systems and mechanisms for cooperation between regulatory authorities in Europe. He is an expert at the Council of European Energy Regulators (CEER). He oversaw, among other things, the country's largest energy transition from coal-based energy to ecologically clean energy based on renewable energy (wind and solar), hydrogen, and nuclear power. He also conducted acquisition projects, Group restructuring, and the development of low- and zero-emission projects.

He served on the board of the largest energy company in Poland. He was responsible for the Group's operational activities, including coal mining, conventional power plants, coal-fired, gas-fired, and biomass-fired CHP plants, electricity distribution, renewable energy, wholesale and retail trading in electricity and gas on domestic and international markets, and for technical and operational support for the project to build the First Polish Nuclear Power Plant.

He designed, developed, and implemented enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. He served on the board of the Polish Power Exchange.

Co-author of the National Emission Reduction Plan.

A graduate of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and the Business School of the Warsaw University of Technology.
