Mr. Robert Kowalski is a graduate of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the Gdańsk University of Technology, majoring in Mechanics and Machine Design, with a specialization in Thermal Power Engineering, and the Faculty of Economics and Management at the Gdańsk University of Technology, majoring in Management and Marketing, with a specialization in Production Systems Organization. He also completed Postgraduate Studies in District Heating and Heating with Energy Auditing at the Faculty of Environmental Engineering at the Warsaw University of Technology, and Postgraduate Studies in Nuclear Power at the Faculty of Mechanical, Power and Aeronautical Engineering at the Warsaw University of Technology. He has extensive experience in organizational management and coordination of commercial activities, including market development and investment management.
For nearly 20 years, he was responsible for the development of the Toruń heating market, where from 2004 to 2006 at EC Toruń, and later from 2006 to 2012 at Cergii SA, he held management positions, implementing the company's development strategy and being responsible for, among other things, the integration of the heat distributor and producer, commercial affairs, marketing, and customer service. From 2012 to 2015, he coordinated the activities of the commercial directorates of EDF Polska Group companies and branches, which became the basis for establishing operational standards in local heating markets. He also implemented sales planning and monitoring models, marketing tools, and the assessment of the economic efficiency of product development. From 2015 to 2023, at PGE Toruń SA, as President of the Management Board, he coordinated and managed the construction of a new gas-fired CHP plant and prepared the organization for the transition to a new heat generation technology. Following the successful transformation of heat and power generation technologies at PGE Toruń SA, he implemented projects that stabilized the company's position in the local market and created one of the most energy- and economically efficient heating systems in Poland in Toruń. He also served as a member of the Management Board and Strategy Director of the Apator Group and as President of the Management Board of Apator Powogaz. He also served as President of the Management Board of the Regional Energy and Environmental Conservation Agency in Toruń and as a member of the Council of the Polish District Heating Chamber of Commerce.
Since May 15, 2024, Mr. Robert Kowalski has been the Vice-President of the Management Board for Support and Development at PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna.
